What Does the Shower Sign Mean?

Where Do You Take Emergency Showers?
An emergency shower needs to be taken urgently. As soon as someone realises that they have a hazardous substance on any part of their body, it is vital that they get the substance rinsed off straightaway. This is also applicable if contact of the substance is made with non-protective clothing and also needs rinsing urgently to ensure that hazardous substances do not seep through onto the body.
TIME CRITICAL
It is vitally important that individuals are able to reach a safety shower in no more than 10-15 seconds from exposure to a hazardous substance.
CLEAR A PATH
It is recommended safety showers are installed no more than 55 ft. from a hazard and that path must never be obstructed by debris or other objects.
SOAK FOR A WHILE
It is recommended that any person exposed to a hazardous substance should use a safety shower for at least 15 minutes.
Your emergency shower area needs to be positioned at a distance of no more than 55 ft. away from where harmful substances are in use. Make sure that people at your site get to the emergency shower without delay by displaying markers on the floor as well as placing signs on walls.
